Sometimes I want to relax ... I would like to recommend it to you, "Kamome Shokudo" where you can rest your mind and body just by watching
Someday Scandinavia ... I want to go to Finland. I would like to walk around the city, stroll through the valleys associated with Moomin, go to the harbor, Marche, and restaurants and cafes. I'm also worried about Scandinavian furniture ...
It was after watching the movie "Kamome Diner" that I came to have such a dream. That overall off-white calm atmosphere and the world view that even if you live in a distant country, you are people after all. After watching it many times, I was completely addicted to the unique personality of this movie.
"Kamome Diner" is a work released in Japan in March 2006. As you can see from the funny catch phrase "Walking with Haragoshirae", this movie features a lot of delicious foods such as Japanese food. The stage is Helsinki, Finland. The small restaurant named Kamome Diner is run by a single woman named "Sachie" played by Satomi Kobayashi. There is always a slow flow of time around her Sachie. It is no exaggeration to say that she creates the atmosphere of this work. I'm not moving, I'm always humble, but I have love. Even though I am free, the warmth reaches people properly. Delicious food is delicious regardless of culture or country! You can tell from the facial expression of the person who is eating. Sachie's dishes are simple, warm and have a gentle scent. In the morning, the fragrant aroma of coffee and cinnamon rolls makes you want to stop by. For lunch set meal, you can eat freshly fried pork cutlet and fried chicken. Kamome Diner's signature dish is rice balls, salmon, dried bonito flakes, and umeboshi. With freshly cooked rice in your hands, the rhythm of quick squeezing is gentle and warm.
The Scandinavian people in this movie are a little shy and playful, and are they a little like Japanese people? I also think. And, as Sachie says in the work, the place where you like "salmon" is similar. Along with new encounters with Finnish people, two Japanese women who happen to get to know each other will also appear. "Midori" played by Hairi Katagiri and "Masako" played by Masako Motai. These two are also single women and come to this cafeteria with their own thoughts. The daily relationship between the Finnish people and these three people is very pleasant. How reassuring it is for travelers who have come to Scandinavia to meet someone who speaks the same Japanese. I also felt that it was such a pleasure for Japanese people to see Finnish people eating Japanese rice deliciously.
It seems that the Finnish Tourism Board cooperated in making this film. Thanks to this, there is no feeling of "making things", and the real life of Finland is projected. The state of the Marche and the scenery of the countryside are lively and beautiful no matter where you cut them. The voice of birds and the fresh breeze are likely to reach us. The Finnish people are also natural in the atmosphere of a neighbor who came out of the house there. What's also great is that the building used as the Kamome dining room is the actual dining room rented from the local dining room Kahvila SUOMI. You can feel the commitment of the creator. The realism of the Kamome Shokudo will increase. The table and chairs are unified with brightly colored smooth wood, and the spacious counter kitchen is fashionable and easy to use. Coffee saucer with sugar and milk containers and hand-painted menu table. I also liked how to serve customers. Of course, it may be very different from the interior of the movie, but it seems that the restaurant is still a secret tourist spot for Japanese tourists, so I definitely want to go there!
No flashy events, one or two pages of simple everyday life. The essence of happiness may be hidden in such a natural day, at the moment of relief. It may be the meal that is repeated as a matter of course. I am happy to have come across a work that reminds me of such a little happiness. It's a wonderful movie that makes your heart beautiful just by watching it. And one day, I would like to visit Finland, which is the stage of Kamome Shokudo, and spend a relaxing time.
